Play. Place. Perform.

Wireless, modular and portable MIDI controller

The Rex plays standalone or drives up to 16 Raptors wirelessly. From a solo pad to a 128-pad rig - USB, Bluetooth LE or Radio.

Padino was born from the conviction that a MIDI controller should be able to adapt to the player, and be just as expressive. Designed and assembled in France by musicians, every decision - from the electronics to the velocity curve - has been guided by real musical playing.

One ecosystem, two devices

The Rex is the main controller: 8 playable pads, OLED display and MIDI connectivity (USB, Bluetooth LE).
The Raptors are wireless satellites that extend the Rex up to 128 pads total.

6 operating modes

The Rex adapts to your setup - no complex reconfiguration...

USB Standalone

Plug the Rex into your computer or tablet via USB-C. Plug & play MIDI, no driver required.

Bluetooth LE

Connect the Rex to your phone or tablet - standard Bluetooth MIDI, compatible with iOS, Android and any DAW supporting wireless MIDI. Recognized directly in MIDI apps (GarageBand, BandLab, etc.).

Raptors Master

The Rex collects signals from its Raptors over Radio and forwards them as USB MIDI. Up to 40 m range.

Raptor Mode

The Rex itself switches to satellite mode and pairs with another Rex acting as Raptors Master. Ideal for hybrid setups.

Standalone Audio

The Rex plays its own sounds, with a sound bank chosen per pad (piano, drums, etc.), and streams them over USB-C as 48 kHz digital audio. The computer sees it as a sound card input, no driver required: just monitor that input in a DAW.

Raptors Master Audio

The Rex receives its Raptors over Radio, as in Raptors Master, but plays their sounds itself and streams them as USB audio, as in Standalone Audio. Up to 128 sounding pads, no virtual instrument needed.

And a multitude of uses

Working on harp with Anaïs Gaudemard

A Padino experiment carried out with harpist Anaïs Gaudemard,
to test the concept against the playing of a professional musician, and to observe how the remote pads integrate with an acoustic instrument.
